BuddyVerse Terms and Conditions of Service
Effective Date: April 2025
Welcome to BuddyVerse, Africa's borderless, AI-enhanced, gold-backed digital service ecosystem. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of all platforms under the BuddyVerse umbrella—including the BuddyVerse mobile app ("App"), our website located at https://.buddyverse.africa ("Site"), and any of the BuddyVerse services, products, or technologies ("Services").
By using BuddyVerse, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our accompanying Privacy Policy.
1. Definitions and Scope
"BuddyVerse" refers to the unified platform powered by BuddyCore DLT infrastructure and the BuddyGold token.
"User" refers to any person accessing the App or Site, including Customers, Professionals, Service Providers, Delivery Partners, or Enterprises.
"BVApps" are decentralised service modules available via the BuddyVerse mobile ecosystem.
"CEE Principle" means BuddyVerse’s core philosophy: Connected. Engaged. Empowered.
"DNA" stands for Digital Nexus for Africa—the continent-wide service backbone BuddyVerse is building.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using BuddyVerse in any capacity, you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them fully. These Terms are entered into between you and BuddyMatrix (Pty) Ltd, the parent company of BuddyVerse.
3. Eligibility and Registration
To use the Services, you must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Provide accurate personal and professional details.
Maintain a secure password.
Operate only one account unless otherwise approved.
BuddyVerse reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts suspected of fraudulent activity, misuse, or breach of terms.
4. Service Use and Conduct
Users agree to:
Use the platform lawfully and respectfully.
Only post authentic service listings, bids, or requests.
Engage in fair, verified, and ethical practices.
Honour commitments made during bookings.
Prohibited behaviours include, but are not limited to: spamming, harassment, fraud, data scraping, intellectual property infringement, and abuse of community rating systems.
5. Partner Verification & Service Categories
Professionals and service providers must submit:
Proof of ID and right to work.
Proof of skills, licences, or trade certifications.
Service history or relevant references.
BuddyVerse reserves the right to review, approve, suspend, or permanently block categories or profiles that do not meet our standards.
6. Bookings, Payments, and Commissions
All transactions occur within the BuddyVerse platform via:
Instant or future booking requests.
Real-time service tracking.
Payments through fiat, card, or BuddyGold.
BuddyVerse facilitates bookings but is not a party to contracts between Customers and Service Providers. Our smart contracts facilitate escrow, milestone-based payments, and performance accountability.
Cancellations and late/no-show policies will apply as per the service guidelines in each BVApp.
7. Tap-to-Earn and Community Incentives
Users may participate in gamified income generation via our Tap-to-Earn system, subject to:
Completion of verified actions.
Adherence to anti-fraud protocols.
Periodic audits and quality scoring.
8. Privacy, Data and Security
BuddyVerse is committed to full compliance with POPIA (South Africa), and other pan-African data governance frameworks. All user data is:
Encrypted end-to-end.
Stored on decentralised and secure servers.
Accessible, exportable, and deletable upon request.
9. Dispute Resolution & Mediation
BuddyVerse offers tiered resolution mechanisms:
Direct user-to-user resolution tools.
Moderated mediation by our internal team.
Smart contract-based arbitration (where applicable).
BuddyVerse is not liable for outcomes between parties but may restrict or ban users found guilty of repeated abuse or fraud.
10. Intellectual Property
All platform trademarks, service logic, DLT components, and BVApp interfaces remain the intellectual property of BuddyMatrix (Pty) Ltd. Any unauthorised reproduction, use, or reverse-engineering is strictly prohibited.
User-generated content may be used by BuddyVerse for service improvement, marketing, or feedback loops, with full attribution and user rights respected.
11. Termination
BuddyVerse may:
Suspend or delete accounts for violations of these Terms.
Limit access to Services for abuse or misuse.
Withhold payments from fraudulent activity.
Users may delete their account at any time via the App or by contacting support.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Where applicable, arbitration may be administered under regional frameworks.
